Please check out the "Throw Back" section where a few of the metro departments are being featured.  In September of 1974, Photographer Duane Troxel traveled from Minneapolis to Utah to attend the IAFC convention; then to Colorado to photograph fire apparatus.  He arrived in Denver on September 20 and stayed for 8 days getting photos of several metro area fire departments.  Duane's trip lasted 14 days total between the two states, he shot 140 fire stations & their apparatus.  Duane sadly passed away in 1980, turning his massive fire photo collection over to fellow fire buff Steve Skaar.  Steve has been kind enough to scan all of Duane's original images and share them with us.  We hope you enjoy this look back at Metro Denver Firefighting 30 years ago.
